Sunshine in the Shadows

Yes, I’m still here—alive and kicking! It’s been a while since I last checked in, and I know I’ve been pretty quiet. There’s been a lot going on both personally and professionally, and sometimes life just takes over. Priorities shift, and things like writing have to take a back seat.

It’s not that I haven’t been writing at all, but I haven’t had the time and focus I’d like to give it. The progress on book two of the Cradle of the Nation series has unfortunately slowed down. I had to pause at about three-quarters of the way through, and while I’m eager to get back to it, I’m not sure I’ll be able to finish it before the end of the year. There’s still a lot of editing to do, and I want to make sure it’s just right.

As for my other projects, they’re also on hold for now. Some are partially written, at least in rough drafts, while others are still just ideas and notes waiting for their moment. But don’t worry—I’ll get to them when the time is right.

So, what’s been going on with me? Well, it’s been a bit of a whirlwind lately. On the personal front, I’ve been dealing with a challenging family situation, and there’s been a lot of private matters to sort out. Professionally, things have been a bit tense as well, but nothing too dramatic—just the usual ups and downs.

My biggest focus right now is preparing for a move to a new country. Yes, after almost eight years in Germany, it’s time to start a new chapter elsewhere. This decision is exciting but also incredibly time-consuming. As you can imagine, moving is always a challenge, but moving to a new country adds an extra layer of complexity. There’s a lot of planning, logistics, and preparations involved, and it’s taking up most of my time and energy.

So, that’s where I’m at—navigating a lot of changes and trying to keep everything on track. It’s a busy and sometimes overwhelming time, but I’m managing and looking forward to what’s ahead!

And yes, I want to assure you that I haven’t abandoned my writing—not a chance! It’s my passion, and while it’s on pause for the moment as I sort through everything, I’m still very much committed. With all the great ideas swirling in my mind and the beautiful moments in life that inspire me, you can be sure that some amazing work is on the horizon.

Even in challenging times when life feels dark and foggy, a ray or two of sunshine can break through, brightening your path and giving you the strength to push forward. These rays often come when you least expect them, in the most surprising ways, but when they do, they light up your journey. What might seem like a tiny push at first glance can actually be the wind at your back, lifting you up and helping you soar.

Right now, I’ve got that strong wind at my back, and those rays above my head are guiding me forward. Writing is still very much my passion, and now I’m fueled by an even deeper layer of motivation. So, I ask for just a little more patience—great material is on its way. It may not come as quickly as we’d all like, but I promise, every second of waiting will be worth it.
