Angel of death book 2 – Behind the scenes part 1

Hey there, welcome back to our blog series! I’ve been a bit MIA lately, dealing with the whirlwind of publishing the first book and battling an illness last week. But I’m back on my feet now, ready to dive into the behind-the-scenes of the second book.

So, the second installment began taking shape right after I wrapped up the first one a few weeks ago. The initial burst of creativity led to the writing phase, but then life happened – editing, formatting, and all the prep work for the book release took center stage, putting part two temporarily on hold. Add a week of not-so-fun illness, and you’ve got the perfect storm for a delay. But fear not; despite the setbacks, I’ve managed to craft the first three chapters.

Let’s talk story. In this part, my friends Azrael and Aiden are off on new escapades. Their vacation in Croatia, which, for the most part, went smoothly (well, mostly), has concluded. But true to their nature, trouble finds them wherever they go. Returning to Colorado, they’re greeted by more surprises, keeping them busier and happier than ever. The adventure continues!

As I mentioned in earlier blogs, my journey took me back to Croatia, my homeland, influencing the book with its charm and excitement. Colorado also plays a significant role, though I’ll keep you in suspense about the town’s name for a bit longer. There’s also a promise to explore other corners of the USA as the story unfolds.

Now, characters. All our familiar faces from the first book are back, with some showing up more frequently and others taking a back seat. Changes have naturally occurred and brace yourselves for some unexpected surprises.

On to the juicy bits – the events. The core story revolving around Azrael and Aiden remains intact, but with twists, both minor and major, that will shake up their lives. You know already no spoilers, let’s keep book interesting to read, so I won’t even mention which kind of events. But if you stay patient and look at my official social media, some sneak peeks might get to your eyes. I’ll unlock the door on one event, a major one, and just say it will be wild and action-packed. This time, the idea is to bring in my military experience and knowledge to make it more detailed and rougher.

The writing quality has leveled up; lessons from the first book have been learned, and a slightly different approach has been taken. The writing style is more consistent, requiring less polishing, and I’m happy to report that you can feel the difference. A significant time-saver? Editing and formatting as I go. Game-changer.

After a solid five days of focused writing, I’m at Chapter 3, boasting around 110 pages and 17,000 words of an edited and formatted manuscript. The finish line is still a ways off, but the story is brewing with ideas. The only downside? I might need to trim some content or leave a few events hanging until the third book. All in all, it’s progressing well, and with the Christmas vacation around the corner, my sights are set on publishing book two in late January or the first weeks of February.

Now, because I can’t resist complicating things for myself, I’ve delved into some unfamiliar territory in this second book. Research is my new best friend, and while it might take some time to get everything right, I’m confident it’ll be worth it.

Before we delve deeper into the details, let's save that for our upcoming blogs. I appreciate your patience and want to express my gratitude.
